Tekkonkinkreet Artbook: Characters
Tekkonkinkreet is one of the famous mangas of Taiyo Matsumoto, who is also renowned as a Japanese manga artist in Korea, and the animated film of it was produced and released by Studio 4℃ in 2006. After the movie was released, there have been some artbooks of the movie, Tekkonkinkreet Artbook: Kuro Side and Tekkonkinkreet Artbook: Shiro Side. After many years from then, the new artbook of the movie which mainly features the contents about characters from the movie was finally published in 2016.

Language & Table of Contents
It was written in Japanese, and there are only a few texts in this book, so people who already watched the movie won’t have any problems with enjoying this book. The table of contents consists of three chapters, Image Sketch, Settings of the Movie, and Art Style of the Movie.
Image Sketch
This chapter features the sketches of Tekkonkinkreet. There are mainly sketches of characters and backgrounds of the movie; those are all simple single color sketches.
Settings of the Movie
This chapter covers the settings of the Tekkonkinkreet; those are mainly about the characters, vehicles, and props from the movie. Mentioning about the settings of characters, there are more contents of main characters than the contents of supporting characters, and there are color charts for vehicles and characters.
Art Style of the Movie
This chapter shows key frames from the movie, and each of key frames shows its scene number and its cutscene number at the bottom of it. This chapter comprises the most pages of the three chapters, so it is the main chapter of the book.
Concluding the Review
Today I’ve reviewed the Tekkonkinkreet Artbook: Characters. It’s pretty peculiar that this book was published after many years from the Tekkonkinkreet Artbook: Kuro Side and the Tekkonkinkreet Artbook: Shiro Side had been published. As I mentioned above, the third chapter is the main chapter of this book since it has features more contents than the first chapter and the second chapter. I believe this book might be helpful for people who currently work in the field of animation or learn about animations. However, people who wanted to enjoy just artworks of the movie might be disappointed with this book. Bottom line, if the readers are workers who work in the field of animation, they might like this book, but if the readers are collectors who want to enjoy just artworks, they might dislike this book.
Note: Any comments about the grammatical errors, or any other minor errors in the reviews will be welcomed.
