唯墨(Only Ink) Art Collection by 呀呀(Yaya)
Yaya is a Chinese illustrator, who won several awards for artworks of neoclassical style. Although the author of this book won several awards and published the author’s own books, information about the author is really hard to find not only in Korea but also in other foreign countries, so if you want to know about the author more in detail, I recommend you to use Chinese search engines.
Standard Book Size
Only Ink Art Collection is a paperback book. It has 109 pages, and the size of it is 21.1 x 28.5 x 1cm.
Language & Table of Contents
It was written in Chinese. The portion of texts in this book is not important, but at the ends of the book, there are comments of the author and also there is an explanation about a drawing process of one specific artwork, so you could put some effort to translate those. Although, there’s no table of contents, I classified the contents into four parts, Author’s Artworks, Author’s Comments, Drawing Processes, and Index of Artworks.
Components
There are mainly watercolor arts in this book. Most of artworks exude a neoclassical feel, and some of the artworks give a modern feel. All of the artworks in this book were surely drawn in a neoclassical style since each of artworks expresses both classic feel and modern feel at the same time. Each of artworks is being contained in a page, except the ten artworks which are being contained in two pages each, so you can enjoy artworks in a large size.
Concluding the review
Today I’ve reviewed the Only Ink Art Collection. Since the author is an artist who mainly draws artworks of neoclassical style, the artworks in this book exude both classic feel and modern feel. Maybe some of you might not like those that much, but if you are an illustrator who need some good references to draw watercolor arts, this book might be the answer for you.
