The Review of Spectrum 22: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art

Spectrum 22: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art

Today I’ll review the Spectrum series, which has been published annually since 1994 to 2015, and so far the twenty-two volumes of the series have been released. This series is being published annually, and the artworks of this series are being thoroughly judged and selected every year, so you can consider this series as a collection of the best artworks.

Standard Book Size

Spectrum 22 is a paperback book. It has 304pages, and the size of it is 23 x 30.5 x 2.2cm.

Language & Contents

It was written in English, and there are comments in the first thirty pages, so if you read the comments and the information of participating artists and the other contents, you might enjoy the book more pleasantly. Except the comments, the contents consist of eight categories, ‘Advertising’, ‘Book’, ‘Comics’, ‘Concept Art’, ‘Dimensional’, ‘Editorial’, ‘Institutional’, and ‘Unpublished’. At the end of the book, there’s some information of participating artists of the Spectrum 22: page numbers of the artworks of each of participating artists, and addresses of each of their emails and personal websites.

Components

Since there are eight categories of the artworks, you can enjoy various kinds of artworks. There are many 2D digital arts and pencil drawing arts. Each of artworks features its singularity since each of those was drawn by many different artists. At the bottom of each of the artworks, there is a name of its artist, a title of it, a size of it, and a drawing tool, which was used for creating it. And also at the end of the book, there is some information of participating artists, which I already mentioned above, so those might be useful to you to find some extra information.

Concluding the review

Today I’ve reviewed the contents of Spectrum 22. This series is being published every year and shows different artworks each time since the artworks in this series are being judged and selected each time. I think that’s the merit of this series since you can find the information of different artists each time. Bottom line, the Spectrum series is a very attractive book to people who are interested in arts or work in the field of art.
