Etrian Oddysey III: The Drowned City is the third installment in the Etrian Oddysey series, which was developed by Atlus for the Nintendo DS. So far there are four installments of Etrian Oddysey series, and two remakes of the Etrian Oddysey series ‘Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl’ and ‘Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight’. The two main artists of the third installment also participated in this art book. Those artists are ‘Yuji Himukai’ who designed the ‘Characters’ part and ‘Shin Nagasawa’ who did the ‘Creatures’ part.

Etrian Odyssey III The Drowned City Official Art Book is a paperback book. It has 191 pages, and the size of it is 25.6 x 18.2 x 1.8cm.
Contents
Although every word in this book was written in Japanese, you won’t have a big problem with reading it since there are only a few explanations about art works. The contents are divided into five parts ‘Classes’, ‘NPCs’, ‘Creatures’, ‘Backgrounds’, and ‘Bonus’. The ‘Classes’ part and the ‘NPCs’ part have the most pages of this book, since those two parts have the half pages of the book. The ‘Classes’ part shows both male and female characters. Most of the art works of characters of those two parts are game images and the last of them are rough sketches. All the art works of those two parts are big comparing with the other parts, since this art books has 191 pages. But unlike those two parts, all the pages of the ‘Creatures’ part contain many art works in a small size for each, since this part has less pages than the ‘Classes’ and the’ NPCs’ part.
Concluding the review
As I mention at the first part, there are four installments, and two remakes of the series so far. The ‘Characters’ part and the ‘Creatures’ part of the whole series were all designed by only those two artists that I also mentioned so there was no big difference in the style of art works of the whole series. On the positive side, this means that you can appreciate art works of stable quality, but on the negative side you might not feel the necessity to purchase all of the official art books of the series, since there is no big difference in the styles of the whole series. Therefore if you have to choose just one of the official art books of the series, I recommend you to purchase Etrian Odyssey Untold 1 & 2 Official Setting Artbook, which is the latest one of the series.
P.S: If you are a big fan of the series, it’d would be okay to purchase the all the official art books of the series, since all the contents of the art books of the series are different from each other.
