Spectrum 19: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art

The Spectrum series is a collection of artworks of many artists; The Spectrum series is published annually, and every artwork in this series is being strictly judged and selected. From 1994 to the present time, there have been twenty-two volumes of the Spectrum series. Mentioning about the Spectrum 23, the awards of it was finished on May 7th this year, and the book will be published later this year.

Standard Book Size

Spectrum 19: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art is a paperback book. It has 304 pages, and the size of it is 23 x 30.5 x 2.3cm. An ISBN of it is 9781599290638.

Language & Table of Contents

It was written in English, and there are commentaries about this book and stories about the developing process of it in 17 pages, so those texts might be worth to read. There are eight categories of the artworks in this book, Advertising, Book, Comics, Concept Art, Dimensional, Editorial, Institutional, and Unpublished. After those, there’s a list of participating artists and are information about them: addresses of their personal websites and emails, and page numbers of the artworks of each of artists.

Components

Since there are eight categories of the artworks, there are many different styles of artworks in this book. Most of artworks are 2D digital arts and hand drawing arts, and there are some of 3D arts. You can enjoy many creative styles of artworks since each of artworks was drawn with different tools and has different themes, and also each of artworks has its information: the name of artist, a title, a size, and a tool.

Concluding the review

Today I’ve reviewed the Spectrum 19: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art. As I mentioned above, there are eight categories of artworks in this book, so you can enjoy many unique styles of artworks from this book. Especially artists who currently work in the field of art might need to purchase this book if they need a good reference to draw some creative artworks. Since the Spectrum series is published with new contents annually, the volumes of this series are worth to purchase to use it as a reference to draw some artworks, so I believe it’s not bad to purchase just a few volumes of the series, not all of the volumes.
