GRANBLUE FANTASY(グランブルーファンタジー) GRAPHIC ARCHIVE II
Granblue Fantasy, which was developed by Japanese company, Cygames, is currently being hosted in Japan and North America. So far, it has not been being hosted in Korea, but still, we can have some hope since they once mentioned about releasing it in Korea. Granblue Fantasy Graphic Archive II, the book that I’ll review today, has almost the same amount of pages as the first volume, Granblue Fantasy Graphic Archive I.
Standard Book Size
Granblue Fantasy Graphic Archive II is a paperback book. It has 319 pages, and the size of it is 29.8 x 21.4 x 2.7cm. The ISBN of it is 978-4758014977.
Language & Table of Contents
It was written in Japanese, and the portion of texts in this book is not high except brief explanations about the characters. The components of this book are similar to the first volume, Granblue Fantasy Graphic Archive I, and the table of contents consists of those chapters.
Character
Job
Primal & Monster
Weapon
Background Images
Collaboration
Rough Sketch & Concept Art
Illustration Gallery
Character, Job
Since the quantity of contents of the second chapter is too scanty, I decided to review those two chapters at a time. The first chapter comprises the largest portion of the book, and there are short explanations for each of characters. Each of pages introduces an each of characters; each of pages consists of a main illustration of a character and images of the character that feature how the character fights in the game. FYI, since the game is constantly being updated, there are illustrations of other different forms of existing characters from the game. Mentioning about the second chapter, it covers the contents of total of six jobs in the game; each of pages shows the images of a male character and a female character of each of jobs at a time.
Primal & Monster
Each of pages of this chapter contains illustrations of each of primals and each of monsters, and some of pages show designs of different forms of primals or monsters, but those are only a few. The amount of pages of this chapter is small since each of pages at least features more than one entity.
Weapon
This chapter contains images of every weapon from the game. Each of weapons has its number, and at the bottom of each of weapons, there’s a name of it. Since each of pages shows many different kinds of weapons at a time, this chapter comprises the small amount of pages.
Background Images
This chapter shows the background images; the contents of this chapter consist of images that feature the moments when the characters have a conversation and battle with someone. The amount of contents of this chapter is scanty.
Collaboration
This chapter shows the illustrations of characters, who appeared in the game as a character collaboration. There are illustrations of characters from total of four different contents, THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS, Tales of Asteria, THE IDOLM@STER: SideM, and Street Fighter 4.
Rough Sketch & Concept Art
This chapter contains rough sketches and concept arts: rough sketches and concept arts of primals, monsters, illustrations, Tokyo Game Show 2015 and character designs (front, side, back).
Illustrations Gallery
This chapter contains illustrations that were used in other different contents. There are cd illustrations, poster illustrations, cover illustrations and illustrations of some of light novels.
Concluding the Review
Today I’ve reviewed the Granblue Fantasy Graphic Archive II. Since this book was published in a short period of time, I worried about this book that the contents of it might not be substantial. Gladly, the amount of contents is almost the same as the first volume, and also this book contains new contents, like the Collaboration chapter and the Illustration Gallery chapter, so you can enjoy many new artworks. Since the contents of this book focus on characters, this book is worth to people who are interested in designing characters. But the thing is that this book also contains the illustrations of same characters from the first volume. So if you already purchase the first volume or want to enjoy artworks of totally new characters, you might need to look through the contents of it first before you purchase it.
