The Art of Seven Knights
Seven Knights is a Korean iOS, Android platform game developed by Netmarble Nexus Studio and released by Netmarble. This game is pretty well-known in Korea, and also there is an official Seven Knights website, which is expected to have many members. So that’s why this art book could be published thanks to its awareness. There are two editions of the art book, the limited edition, and the normal edition. The difference between them is the limited edition contains the main images and extra images of the game. You can get the game coupon, which is contained in the art book, but the thing is that many Korean who play Seven Knights were only interested in getting the coupon in the book, not the art book.
Standard Book Size
The Art of Seven Knights is a hardcover book. Both the normal edition and the limited edition are the same size as 30.3 x 2.3 x 1.2 cm. However, the normal edition has 144 pages, and the limited edition has 208 pages.
Contents
It was written in Korean, since it was published in Korea. The table of list consists of introduction, illustration part, character part, background part, and lastly a list of participating artists for each of parts.
Illustration
Illustration part mainly consists of official posters, and prologue images. Official posters are filled with main images on the left-side pages, and concept sketches on the right-side pages. Prologue images consist of illustrations of scenes of prologue, so there are only a few images about the prologue.
Character
This is the main part of this art book, since it has the most of the pages. The characters are divided into several sides, and there are game images and illustrations of each of characters. You can enjoy the decent illustrations of characters of different classes, weapons, equipment, and costumes. You can also read comments, which mention the profiles of characters, and artists who drew the illustrations. I can say that the character part is the main attraction of the book.
Backgrounds
The backgrounds part, which has the least of the pages comparing with the other two parts, consists of images of game loading, battle zones, and adventure zones. You can also see the names of artists, who drew the images next to each of them.
Concluding the review
The main attraction of The Art of Seven Knights is characters, since the most of the pages consist of the illustrations of the characters in detail. But it was a shame that the background part has images less than the illustration part. You can see more illustrations of the backgrounds in the limited edition, but those already ran out of stock, so you just have to purchase the normal edition. I also felt a shame that most of people who purchased this art book did purchase the book just because they wanted to get the coupon, not to enjoy the illustrations as I mentioned above.
